Can someone please help me with this problem.....i seemed to be getting some weird patchwork pattern in the attached photo. More so in the areas where the water is smoked out. I tried to reduce the noise in the photo before converting from RAW and again after, using MS Digital Image Pro10, but it still looks the same. I've taking photos like this before in HQ jpg and didn't have this problem. I don't have access to the RAW file right now, but I don't recall seeing that in the photo.

Any suggestions? Ideas??

Thanks,
Jon J.

Jon,

third party Photoshop Plug-ins can do the weirdest things. A while ago I found a sharpening plug-in was misbehaving with a noise reduction plug-in to produce a "Solarized" effect. As soon as I dumped that particular noise reduction (it was a free trial download, so no loss) and went for a different product, it was fine.
