Well this morning wasn't very eventful , but this afternoon was spent on finishing up negotiations to author a book for an international publishing firm. After a few months of back and forth the details were finally ironed out and I signed a contract to author a book for traveling photogs.

So I guess from here it's a few thousand more miles on planes finishing up random research and then off to scratch out the text to fill the 135 page "The Traveling Photographer's Essential Pocket Guide"

How hard can that be? :D

Well,

I have written my into

"It was a dark and stormy night...." No wait, Snoopy wrote that while sitting on top of his dog house.

My mother is still dumbfounded anyone would offer me to write anything given that I have no grammatical skills and still spell 243 words wrong a consistent basis. My wife is befuttled that I have no idea where my shoes or boxer shorts are each morning, but off the top of my head I can rattle off obscure flight routes and the airlines that service them....at times even knowing their flight numbers.

I already fear the red marker of the copy editors who must read my text.

Not to pry, but do you know the commission details? Are you getting a small cut per copy sold? It'd help us POTN buyers get motivated to pick up a copy ;)

Congratulations.
What is the timeline? Will this be available in early 2009?

The deadline for the book to be delivered to the publisher is 1-June-2009. I'd like to be done in half of that time.

This is not a book I had written an pitched, this is a book I was approached to write by the publisher.

I do know the commission details, and if I can sell 1,000,000,000 copies my wife would be thrilled:D

......me, I'm still shocked almost daily that people read Flying With Fish (http://www.flyingwithfish.com), and even more shocked to find out some people come back daily!
