I am having a problem with my jpeg and camera raw files becoming corrupted. Many of the photos have horizontal anomalies – never vertical anomalies. The anomalies can be a line with or without color going all the way across or as is usually the case part way across the photo. The other kind of horizontal aberration is a line all the way across the photo that may result in misalignment and always results in a color shift on one side of the line of the other. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?? Is there a way to correct the corrupted files?? Fortunately most (but not all) of my photos have been backed up to DVD’s or CD’s prior to corruption of the files.

Thanks in advance for any advise or help you can give.me.

If the files got corrupted after you made a backup of them and the backup is good, why not just restore from the backup files on DVD or CD?

Thanks Leo,

I am restoring the ones that have backup. But I want to learn why this is happening so I can take steps to prevent it from happening. It is an ongoing problem.

What did you do to or with the CF Card after you had backed up the files
