Can you use an FD lens with a 20D? I have an old 50mm f1.8 from a Canon AE-1 Program. Just wondered if it would work?

Thanks,
Mark

Yes and no. I do, but you need to buy an EOS to FD adapter.

The problem is that this moves the lens out enough that it will not focus to infinity, much like a short extension tube.

In my case, I am using the adapter to connect to an FD bellows, with an FD lens mounted to it.

I could just as easily put the FD lens right on to my camera, but it will only be suitable for macro work.

A good FD adapter will cost you as much as a new EF 1.8/50 II.

If you had an FD 600 L, that would be something else, but in your case it most likely will not be worth it.
