Don't have alot of time to experiment before the next shoot (tomorrow). Sports Illustrated Mag Photographers page suggest setting the 1Dmk2 Jpeg L to quality 7. 8 was the default and I have changed mine to 10. Is there much if any noticeable difference in quality. I tend to sell alot of 13x19" MX posters so I'm tending to go with the highest quality possible...
Thanks in advance...

I shoot at the default of 8 and just had some 20x24 enlargements made that were breathtaking.

Thanks once again for the help Jim, I appreciate it.
Motorcycle Iceracing tomorrow, looks like its gonna be a cold one (-30F). We'll see how the Mk2 handles the cold.....

You're welcome. It should do just fine. Keep the spare batteries as warm as you can. I look forward to seeing the pictures!

Hello Jim
I posted a few images of the iceraces here http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=54253
No bikes showed up because it was too cold ( -39C ) so I shot cars instead. The Mk2 was awesome and cold battery was never an issue, Thanks..
P.S. I Set all C.Fn as per Sports Illustrated Photogs.... Worked Great...

I tried the "!)" setting when I first got it for some time.. when I compared it to the default 8,.. I truly could not see a difference.. but the 10 file size was significantly larger. So I am back to 8.
On the other hand,. I rarely if ever shoot jpeg.

I go with what SI site said, I did it with my 10D and was very happy. So I did the same with the 1D, but at 8 quality.
Mind you, I always forgot to switch the camera off, so I need to have the auto-off timer at something low.

Agreed, anything above 7 is pretty hard to see any difference so the default of 8 seems a good setting for size vs quality.
