Met them in a park. Both of them quite willing to get "shot" ! Let me know your comments.

Very cute outfit for the first one.. The second one with the helmet head is adorable. <<PINCH>>

Both are very nice. Of course, the costume on the first adds something.

Thanks for the comments.
First one is dressed up for "shichi-go-san" festival/ceremony (meaning 7-5-3 festival). In Japan it is customary for parents to dress up their kids aged 3/5/7 years in beautiful "kimono's" & take them to shrine or temple for gods blessings (I hope this is precise as I am not Japanese :-))
Second one appaently is not celebrating anything but trying to shield from winter winds :-)

yes both of them are strangers, i saw them in a park near a famous shrine and asked for their permission to shoot them.

> Was she cold ...
Well she looked quite comfortable playing around with her friends :-) I shot this pictures in begining of Janaury & it was definately very cold then, so I guess you are correct, she must have some woolies ! or may be, she was wearing a real winter Kimono's which is said to be very warm.

Offcourse I showed them the pics, i would have been too rude with the generous ladies not to do so :-)

Yup I am a Indian, working in Japan for approx. 2 years now. My wife is Japanese though.

Cheers

must be difficult at times
learning language
etc etc
but after two years you are used to all I guess

by the way I thought the second shot was of a boy for some reason
must be the clothes distracted me
hers are so feminine

To be very frank, I am not well accoustomed after 2 years also. People consider India as traditional, however Japan in itself is very strong too.
I am still learning the langauge :-) can manage small conversations as of now but thats all ! In office I mostly use Java, C++, Unix & occassionally English but not Japanese :-)
I got married recently so also trying to grasp the family values & the way things are done in Japanese families. Its fun actually. My wife is very supportive.

Oh yes, I now realize you referrred to her as "he". well may be her outfit is in strong contrast with the other one as you said.

Cheers

Raj,

They are very cute. Nice portraits. I liked the colors on the first one and on the second one she looks like a model. When I visited Japan kids were always "jumping" in front of the camera. I envy you for living there. It's an amazing country and people.
