okay so i decided on getting a benro C-258n6 8x cf but its out of stock. i noticed they had the benro aluminum version of this tripod of 130 and it only wieghs a half a pound more. is there any other reason to go with cf over aluminum besides weight? both tripods are rated at 17 pounds.

oh ya still looking for a three way pan head would like it to support at least 9 pounds and not be super heavey under 100 bucks

Check out Feisol. I don't have personal experience but they are spoken highly of by some users here as good Gitzo alternatives.

The reasoning for carbon fiber is more than just weight. It damps out vibration much better than aluminum. The only thing better for damping power is a wood tripod like Berlebach.

Yeah, if you play baseball, it's very easy to feel the difference. Try hitting a baseball with an aluminum bat, then again with a carbon fiber bat. Much less vibration.

okay i see so what do you think about the flashpoints? the flashpoint, benro, and Feisol all look the same. flashpoint is 50 bucks cheaper though.
