Which do you guys think I should enter in an informal competition, theme "broken"?

2

One is a bit too cluttered.. I think it could work.. but with more selective DOF...
I also am not fond of the straight on angle in the 1st shot.

Two I really like.. I love that there is still wine in the glass... but I think it would be even better if some was spilled in high surface tension puddles around the glass as well ;)

I have a version of #1 with a narrow DOF, but I didn't like it so much so I didn't post it.

I dont like any of them, because I do not find the basic premise to be believable. I have seen a lot of broken wine glassess, and I find that the base of the stem is a very unnatural place for a break. Especially with no other damage, and wine still in the glass - without a spill. It looks TOO staged. WAY too staged. And when the staging becomes apparent, the illusion is lost.

I do not see a "broken wine glass" - what I see is "he broke the wine glass, then he put it there like that, and took a picture of it." - If you can see the difference.

It broken there naturally during a party, a girl put the glass down wrong. For the table scene all I did was move it around the table and tip a little red wine into it.

It broken there naturally during a party...

Even though that may be the case, to me, it STILL LOOKS staged, and even knowing that it wasn't, I still don't find the shot...well...organic. Looks artificial.

Sorry,

I like broken glass on wood floor better, but I think it would work better if the floor was a lighter color to offset the dark wine, and like someone else said, maybe some drops of the floor.

The glass on table is too cluttered, and narrow DOF version is too narrow, the glass is out of focus.
