Canon updated their site. They removed the red new bubble over the EOS Rebel XSi camera image. I would expect an announcement soon within the next few weeks.

I have seen Canon in the past remove the bubbles, just before they update their camera lineup, usually the week before.

The bubble removal is not an announcement, just an indicator of that something is coming soon.

There is still one on the XS. I'm not sure i follow this logic.

IIRC the Federal Trade Commision actually has rules about how long a product can be referred to as "New." After that time frame, calling something "New" is considered false advertising.
