Short story, nicely narrated and dramatized, but little content.
Reminds me of the saying 'TV will never replace the newspaper. You can't swat a fly with a rolled-up TV set...' Don't know the author.
Best regards,
Andy

An interesting piece of sience fictoin, but not much of a prediction.
Much of what it describes alreay occurs, just on a much smaller scale, and with out the commercial involvment.
Web based forums (like this one) are really just a collection of storys, news and information media submitted by a variety of people. Not all of it is true, much of it is superfishial and it takes clever experianced editing skill to be able to wade through much of it.
While it will become much easier for people to share thier lives and opinions with others, there will never be a replacement for proffesional Journalism, and I think the little animation under estimates just what is needed to create a truely news worthy story, and just how much a growing and diverse civilisation depends upon it.

Reading too much Philip K. Dick....
They forgot the part where on August 4th 2015 the "Googleplex Grid" gets plugged into the National defense grid;
Human decisions are removed from strategic defense.
Googleplex begins to learn, at a geometric rate.
..........In a panic, they try to pull the plug.
At 2:14 a.m. eastern time, August 29, 2015...
Googleplex Becomes Self-Aware.....................
You all know where it goes from here... ;)
The Island of Manhattan gets turned into the Countries largest most secure max security penitentiary.. we stop actually taking vacations and instead get the memories of vacations inplanted directly inot our heads,.. and God turns out to be a radio diskjocky that has been stuck in orbit in a sattelite for the last 2000 years...
