apart from the green ones they all look pretty strange to me, only about 2,000 species according to Wikipedia,

apart from the green ones they all look pretty strange to me, only about 2,000 species according to Wikipedia,
yer..any thing from 1600-2000 different species..iv seen ones in the mantid fourm that would bloe your mind.amzming looking ones that arnt in culture.some guy lives in Malaysia hes found some amazing ones.

i dont think there native there..only in texas..i could be wrong tho.these are still babys..there grow as bit as the giant asian

yes.a guy called yen in texas sent me an ooth.i have 5 5th instar nympths,looking good so far,.

cool. so the ooth can travel overseas huh?
if i find any of the green mantids ive been shooting ill take a shot of it, and ask you about it from there.. i would love to contribute if i could.

go deep in to yhe jungle and find some white orhid flowers..look carfully im sure your see some of these:)thats where these are native to..where u live..u lucky so and so

yer in the summer they can travel all around the world.did you know a mantid ooth can be submerged in boiling hot water and not damage any of the eggs?

thats a baby orchid mantis.when they hatch there orange and black.ask your buddie where he found it..then go to the same place and look hard

your not looking hard enough..try and find some white flowers and look hard..there very good at hiding in the flowers.

deep in the woods/forest here, i have found mantids, but not any like that.
- i do find that the deeper i go into the thick of it, the better the subjects are.

Exactly...doubt i can find any :D...and it's a jungle out there where i shoot!

Been checking out the white flowers as MJ suggested to look for the orchid mantis ...NO LUCK yet for the past 3 days :(

What were some of the ooths called "Fake Ooth"?

unfertile.doubt that would be the casein the wild.:) the males can detect the females scent from 100 meters away
