Some images from the trip, some of you have already seen the Angel of North and swing bridge shots, now it's a sum up of a day's shots.

Love this city, will definitely go back again, there are more photo opportunities than I had time to capture!

Wonderful pictures, particualarly those of the Angel. Am I right in thinking it was dark when you took those two? I'm sure I see the stars and moon.

You guessed it right, it was pitch black when I turned up, they do sometimes turn on the lights.

First shot was a 30 second exposure at f2.8, last angel shot was 75 seconds exposure.

I love the second Angel of the North pic, the colours have a dreamy quality that reminds me of Henri Rousseau.

Isn't the Sage building fabulous? I'm definitely going to have to take a trip up and have a go at that in the summer.

Nice shots.
did you use a wide angle lens for #2 ? seems to have a lot of barrel distortion. I would rather prefer to stitch pics to get entire frame.
Apologies if my opinion is incorrect. I am too young in photography ...

Nope, it's the famous Canon 15mm fisheye did the trick :D

I like the effect, so didn't both de-fish it.

It's really nice to see pictures of my home town. Every time I go home, I never seem to have time to go sight-seeing with the camera (Tons of relatives to visit :-( ) Like you said, so much to take photos of, so little time.

Brings a tear to my eye. :-)

Absolutley fantastic shots, love the Angel ones in particular, if you are ever up in Newcastle again taking photos give me a shout and we can meet up. You may also wish to check Durham out, the Cathederal and castle can be very photogenic

Cheers

I'm definitely going back to Newcastle again and hopefully for a weekend, just to make sure I don't leave anything out!

I sure will give you a shout next time I'm up :D

Great series of shots there. My sister used to live in Newcastle and it really is a city that has transformed itself.
