Great set of shots of a tragic event. Good variety of angles and all exposures right on the money. I'll bet the local newspaper didn't do as well.

Absolutely fantastic work. I was thrilled to see they were done with a 300d, my own camera. Can I ask what lens you used and the exposure settings? Truly great results.

Did you send them to the newspaper? Really nice stuff!
Nah, it was just a housefire, they could care less... its los angeles
What's your background? Are you a PJ , a generalist or (like me) a guy with a camera?
I just started photography about 3 weeks ago, just like you.. a guy with a camera

What a great opportunity to get some superb photos...the color, sharpness and DOF were right-on on so "many" of them...I was blown away! You didn't flick a cig on his roof, did ya ??? you see where I'm going here...maybe you were overpowered by Hollywoods "Backdraft" movie thing...that once in a lifetime chance to shoot fireguys/firegals actually "in the zone"...doing their deal...I could see doing it..really, man. Hey, all kidding aside, seriously damn fine photos....Mackroel

I love #2. Excellent composition... but what do you want us to critique?

I'll critique and I don't know diddly, but some things are better critiqued from a laymans eyes some times, am I right? #6 is the one. Action. More fire and less firemen. Look at the intensity of those flames. Now that pic screams DANGER! Thats the kind of photo that you mention to someone else "check this out". You know what I mean?
(I'm gonna end up gettin me one of those Drebels before this is over). Nice shots.

Given the spontaneity of the event, I think your pics are very good.

Hey Im only a newbie to all this but I think I know where Pugdaddy is heading maybe not such a close pic on #6 would give it more effect with the size of the flames & how close the firefighters are to te action!! (those guys do a great job) but thats just my opinion (which aint worth much with my skills haha) But my fav is number 7 Ilove it, How the hosejust grabs your eye & leads you weaving up the road!!!! Fantastic shots all over.

Are you going to offer them to your (ex, I guess) neighbor, at a low price?
Just dark-humor-kidding.
I wanted to say now which photo I like best, but.. it's tough, they're all quite equally good. Nice job! :)
