Really Nice Marie, I find this to be a very moving and poweful photo, I can't explain it but there something that just draws you into it. It asks so many questions. What is he looking at? who is he? is he a homeless person? is he being followed? just so many questions. GREAT JOB.

A very compelling shot Marie. I like it, even if it portrays sadness.

Photorealism at it's best. Congratulations. I feel sad for this fellow, it breaks your heart. :(

Very nice photo, but the compression looks a bit overdone... unless it's deliberate.

I love this shot. Not knowing what he is looking at is the key. It could be a photographic metaphor for reflecting on his life...and seeing nothing. You caught a memorable image, Marie. Good eye.

Nice catch of a powerful moment.

The BW is IMO best here.

I would crop out part of the left, so that the man in the left third of the picture. Then the empty/black space he looks into is bigger vs the rest of the picture. IMO it gives a greater impression of loss...

I don't know if you deliberately reduces the number of gray tones here but I think a standard high-contrast gray would work better, perhaps adding noise too...

EDIT : Ooops... saw just now that you posted the pic in sharing, not critique. Hope you don't mind my (constructive) critics...

Very nice, Marie. Old folks make very photogenic subjects, just like babies. :)

like others said marie, it realy raises questions like does he know where he is? or is he being followed? what is he looking at?

i like it a lot and i also like the effect ;)

:)
the man was in a local country town last week.
I thought he looked like he had got off a bicycle .
the character which he ' gave off ' reminded me of Fagin in the film/show 'Oliver ' .
remember the song 'pick a pocket or two' ?
he seemed to be looking around as I got a shot of him looking right and then looking left.
then he asked a man a question, all in the space of a few seconds (I was passing along on the far side of the street)

Ikinaa, thanks .
I did add noise (grain) and I wanted the left side of the picture left in
as it added more balance to the whole .
also to show something of where he was standing
(it was a cheap bargain type of shop on the left )
just wanted some of that there .
even though you can't really make it out:confused:
(that's why it's there )

Tim , that was very delibrate . thanks

again many thanks to you all.

here is that picture showing the man asking directions ,
he could be very happy , just maybe he was in a strange town ?

:)

yes, his face has a lot of character
