I just got the copperhill cleaning kit, but since i'm not in the US it doesn't come with eclipse (the cleaning fluid). Does anyone know what it is, so I can try and get some locally? I think I remember reading somewhere it was just ethanol, or methanol, or some kind of "ol" at least :)

Hi Tim,
The alcohol is likely a form of propanol (1-propanol or iso-propanol). Just a guess though ...

There webstie says http://www.pbase.com/copperhill/image/32569476 that it's methanol.

Sure does ...
I wonder if it has any additives to warrant selling it as a special solution? If not, you should be able to get pure methanol from a lab supply company. Make sure ya read and follow the MSDS before handling this chemical.
