Thanks for the reply skimmilk68. The picture was taken literally on the "fly." I was turned 180 degrees the other way taking a landscape shot on the tripod with mirror lock-up enabled. I heard the geese and picked up camera, tripod and all, and shot. Rather clumsily, I might add as the mirror lock-up meant I had to shoot blind. It was 135mm, f5.6 at 1/100th of a second. I was trying to pan the geese, and I felt a few of them were sharp. Mark

Methinks you're overcompressing. What program are you using to resize/recompress the pics? Try GIMP! There's tons of artifacting that I'm sure the camera didn't produce. :) Other than that, nice shot!

What program are you using to resize/recompress the pics?
KevC--I used Photoshop CS. I resize image to 800 at the widest, then set pixels to 75/inch. What I didn't realize, is you need to set the pixel/inch firist or do it in an additional step. Kind of new at this posting stuff, first too small, then too big! I also thought that the quality setting of the jpeg was important for final size, but I have't quite figured that out either. I'll keep at it until I finally figure it out. Mark
