As in Ken Rockwell?

I guess ruffling some feathers is good. How do you mean?
No as in Norman.

Sorry didn't think of Norman Rockwell. Disregard the ruffling!

Honestly? well....

Sorry, not seeing Normal Rockwell in that picture. It is too confined. Almost all of NRs popular images were of larger scenes. Scenes with iconic images, items and themes. Scenes that depicted the world around him as he would like it to be. Scenes with an emotional punch of some kind.

This looks like a snapshot of some relatives. Or maybe a snapshot of some people right before a crime. I mean, the middle lady does look surprised and is holding some kind of blade (Skinning knife? Tile knife?)....

Just in terms of processing. Not considering the position of the subjects.

I'm seeing more Ken than Norman.

Perhaps it isn't Norman, but after perusing Ken's site, I sure hope I am doing better. (at least for the shots of people)
I'm going to smear some vaseline on my lens and see if I can copy his style! :) :)
Not! The wedding galleries are full, mostly, of the softest images I have ever seen.

What is the woman in the middle holding?

Since you asked for C&C....I don't see any real PP on the image. The reason I said it looked more like a Ken image was the woman on the left has a pole growing squarely out of the top of her head and the whole background is just a jumbled mess. If you wanted to get a shot of the three of the them that looked like more than a snapshot, a better background is pretty important. Just closing that door would have helped tremendously.

I can certainly change the background. This was just a spur of the moment quicky, done out of curiosity. It is interesting that you see no PP in the image as it has been through ACR, then into photoshop. High pass sharpening, masking to reveal only eyes, lips and hair. Gaussian blur, masked as above but in reverse. (to hide eyes, lips.....). Layer's opacity taken down to 20%. Then duplicate layer filtered through watercolor. Finally, curves to get the look that it has. IE, it is one of the most highly processed images I have produced. It is basically a snapshot taken at a meeting. Stricltly catch as catch can while trying to keep a low profile. :)

This was taken just before she stabbed the gentleman on her left just for the comedic impact of it. :)

Nah.....it is a cake server.

I know I just thought that it was funny. When I first saw it it looked just like a very serious hawkbill knife. To boot the look on her face looks lik eyou stopped her from doing something.

I was roaming the room taking candid shots. The woman in the middle has some astounding natural expressions.

And that is what I'm seeing as reminiscent of Norman Rockwell. His images (despite the above comment) we of characters or someone in an unusual pose/situation generally with a bit of comedy. I think if you applied a bit more "painterly" processing it would be even moreso like his style, but I see it there already.

Finally!
Thank you so much for giving me feedback on the post processing of the subjects. That is exactly what I was looking for. It was her expression that spurred me to give it a try.
Say hi to Denver for me, I lived there for many years......
