I want to get my image ready for print...

I cropped to a 3:2 aspect ratio for a 12 x 18 print...

What do I put for resolution?

CS2 shows me only ppi and no dpi....

Do I put 300 ppi?

And when I save as JPEG what quality is the best some say Q10 some say Q12...

I want a high quality detailed print...

Thanks!

I set mine at 240 ppi as requested by Epson. I use that for all printing and it works fine! Other printers might have a different setting.

Thanks Johnny!

I should have made it clear that I was going to take it to Costco...

I just called them and they said 300ppi for my 12 x 18....

rgb or srgb don't really matter they said...:D

It is amazing what a real large print looks like! I printed a 13x19 inch on my Epson printer and it knocked my socks off! :D Wow, is all I can say. The bigger prints do look beautiful for those that haven't tried one.

I'm glad yours came out wonderful booju!

if you want the highest quality,, dont save as jpeg :) but that is a whole other debate on what people can and cant see in terms of quality.

I'd be willing to bet no-one can spot the difference between a print of a high quality jpg and a tiff of the same image

I've made two awesome 12x18s at Costco (via their online service). And for three bucks too!

Now the problem is finding an affordable 12x18 frame.....

Oh, and they were JPGs, but I shot them both in RAW using my beloved 70-200mm f/4 IS. Processed with ACR and sharpened with AbsoluteSharpeningWeb in CS3 (without resizing) before saving it off as a JPG.
