Focus Stacking in Linux - possible?

Now, I know there is Helicon and Combine out there for WIndows that do a great job of focus stacking... but what alternatives exists for Linux....

Is there any scripts for Gimp that can do, because I'm certainly not about to do it manually by aligning layer upon layer in Gimp...

Or is there any dedicated applications for Linux that can do it?
