Hi,
i've got a Canon Pro 70. I've copied jpg, .ctg, .thm files in hdd.
Is possible to find inside one of these files something that let me confirm that are done by this camera model (eg. find inside somewhere the serial number)?

Hello! Welcome to the forum.

I think that what you are describing is the exif information that is contained within the file.

When your camera is connected to your computer and you are using the Canon camera software you can select a photograph and then click on properties to bring up an information window.

My Drebel displays the following information.

File Name
CRW_4587.CRW

If you do the same thing from your picture editing program and click on image properties while it is open, it will contain much the same information but may not display the Camera Body information.

PSP does not for me, only the Canon software that came with the camera.

You should be able to see the exif information in the .jpg and according to webopedia the .ctg is the Powershot Pro 70 info file. You might try opening it with notepad or any text editor and it may contain the information that you are looking for.

Hi,
my problem is that the .jpg file don't show the camera number, but the camera model and other info.

It would appear that the camera serial number is not embedded in this file, only the type of camera at the top.

sorry, :(

Must be nice. When I click on properties all I get is the file size, image size, and file type. This is using my A75 and zoombrowzer EX. Am I doing something wrong? I sure would like to have some info on my pics. Especially the aperture and speed, of course.

Many image editing programs strip the EXIF information out. This can extend to using Windows to rotate the image. If you want to be sure you'll see the EXIF information, you need to look at the original image. With care, some programs will allow you to edit images without deleting the original EXIF information, but that's "with care".
