I have the drebel with a bp511 battery and just ordered a 20d which uses a bp511a battery. Can I use both batteries in both cameras? Thanks!

Yes. The BP511a will last longer per charge .

The only difference between the BP-511 and BP-511A is that the BP-511A has a higher capacity, meaning you can take more shots before it's empty. You can use both the BP-511 and BP-511A in the Digital Rebel as well as the 20D.

Thanks, guys! I'll let you know how the 20d performs. I just picked up the Sigman50-500mm zoom and am anxious to pair it up with the 20d! If you'd like, check out my web site at www.nistudios.com
Any feedback is appreciated.

I use Power 2000 BP511a equivalents ( They actually are a little better - 1500 mah )and they charge in the 20D charger without a problem.
