SD500 Software?

Is there a way you can make your Canon S500 show up as a external drive to pull the pictures from?

I just got the camera today and noticed that you just can't plug the USB cable to your PC and it shows up asa second external drive.:cry:

Do you have to use the proprietary Canon software to view your pictures?

Ahhh, sorry but I realized that the camera must be in non-shooting mode to power the USB device and not stand-by.

It works great w/o the software since Canon does not support Linux.

You might want to consider a card reader. Works great and saves the camera battery.
