Heublein Tower. The 165-foot structure was built as a summer home in 1914 by Gilbert Heublein.

Nice shots, Sandy. I haven't been up to the tower in years but I did get up to Dr. Heublein's party house this past summer. Every Sunday, Dr. Heublein and his doctor friends used to escape to this cabin not too far from the tower. It's basically one big room with a bar, kitchen and bathroom. Not even a bedroom! His granddaughter owns it now and they had a minor structural issue that I checked out. Here's the view from the cabin.

Thanks Jim. After seeing the 2 you posted I've really got to get my butt in gear and get back up there, However I think I'll wait tell it warms up a little, maybe even wait for things to turn a little green. No sense hiking a mile+ along a mountain ridge in 3d F. Temps.

Thanks Marie, hopefully when the weather gets better (warmer) I'm going to hike up to it and take some photos. It looks down on the town I grew up in (Simsbury, where the tower is located), that's some of the view you see in Jims photos.
