I just got the 58mm adapter, and I recently acquired a 77mm polarizing filter, figuring I'd never need to buy another one.
When I got the adapter, the guy in the store said "That 77mm filter might be awfully heavy for that size camera". To be honest, I sort of felt that way as soon as I got the filter.
Who of you has tried this? How big (or heavy) a filter will you put on an A610 with either the Canon or Lensmate adapter?

I'd stay with 58 mm; as much for the weight as for the 9.5 mm rim you'll get around the front of the lens, just waiting to get caught on things.

Jon's right - stick with 58mm ones, besides, less glass = cheaper to buy too. The only exception to the rule is when stacking macro lenses, bigger lenses help you avoid edge colour split aberrations. I find 72mm much better for macro work than the 58mm set. Get the standard filters, CPL, ND, IR etc , but when you get to grads, use a cockin P plate because you can adjust the level of the horizon, something you cannot do with a circular twist fixed horizon grad filter.
