I was asked by someone to show some 50 1.4 shots when used on my 1D (4mp MK-I) and here is a a shot from the Autosport show with a 100% crop. I only hope they change the carpet colour to something neutral next year to get rid of that red tinge.
This is a great lens for show work as long as you have room to back up to get the right framing. It is as sharp as a tack, especially when stopped down a bit. This was at 1/100 F4.

And the 100% crop:

I wasn't the one who asked, but thanks anyway, as I am waiting for my 50mm 1.4 to come in from B&H.... awesome! Sharp!

Nice shot Ken.. See, just when I have convinced myself that I don't need and in fact have no use for, one of the 50mm primes you go and post something like this

Ah well, there must be a space somewhere in that bag. I see Warehouse Express have dropped some Canon lens prices by quite a bit.
I love the 50 1.4, it is one superb lens for shows and when I'm in the garages.

You sure you're not a demon? Tempt, tempt, tempt...
Yes, there probably is room in the bag but could I lift it? We're getting perilously close to "Waffer thin mint" territory...

I really don't think it is all that sharp. Your main subject is obviously out of focus. I can't even make out her eye color. ;)
