Elements 6 "error signature" HELP!

I've been spending days PP on my Kauai photos without issue.

Then tonight my Elements organizer locks up.
I reboot.

Get error message saying that...
"Adobe Photoshop Elememts 6.0 has encountered a problem and needs to close."

So I reboot again. Same thing. I try to repair the program with program disc. Nothing. I uninstall and reload. Same error message.

The file in question is...
C:\DOCUME1\SCOTT\LOCALS1\TEMP\8Ob6_appcompat.txt
(In subsequent trys sub the "8Ob6" for fe16, 6c7b. Seems to change with each attempt.

Any idea what I can do to fix this?
