This is my first attempt at a macro shot, opinions please.
Focal Length = 16mm
Aperature = F/4.8
Shutter = 1/60
Canon A75, my S30 is in the shop.

For a 1st effort, its pretty good, but using a Powershot camera, you should be able to get much closer than what you were able to obtain on the "purple flower." I'm not that familiar with the A75, but doesn't that unit have a dedicated "macro mode," and were you using it on that shot ? I use a Canon G3, which is only a 4mp camera, and I was able to get what I consider to be extremely close-up on these two shots, but I may have used one of my special macro units obtained from 3rd party vendors. If you like to do up close stuff, there are a lot of tools out there to help you out. Good luck, stay at it. Mackroe

I'm not really drawn to a particular subject, also a macro shot in my opinion is much closer than that. The lighting seems really harse ( evident in the water droplets ). Not much else I can think of, but decent for a first attempt.

It doesn't focus on one thing enough to be macro IMHO. It also needs a single main focus, again IMHO.
