Chris, bad things are said when I begin to think and your caption made me ponder.
Your way gives the impression that he died of thirst. But...
If you rotate the "man" 180 degrees, he was a shipwreck survivor that barely made it to dry land.
A good image causes thought. ;)

But if he survived he wouldn't have died and become petrified :D
I got this guy when I was out shooting heron's today. Let's just say that this was the best heron I got, and I have a new appreciation for your pain.

nice. The only heron that i can find is the GBH and i can only have so many photos of the same bird. No really it is the exact same bird. I like the picture, wood can make some weird shapes sometimes.

I think it's a novel shot and couldn't have been shot better. If you view that piece of wood from any other angle, It's resemblance to a human form might be lost. IMHO

A man with a vivid imagination and some decent camera skills. I like it, good eye.

Thanks guys :)
I've been studying association lately, and I think some of it is spilling out.
Maybe it's his feet that keep washing up on shore around here...
