Heres a few from my journey outside catching some sun during the motor show. Was just in time to get some shots of the Thundercat series.

Kept my shutter speed slow since I think they worked well here. Panning is a lot harder than I thought too.

Ely, how fast do these small boats go. Your pictures are great but my curiosity is peeked.

Thanks guys. The boats were going about 40/50mph (I maybe wrong here). These were the middle class boats, so they are allowed to tune them how they wish.

My shutter speeds where more 1/20 sec hence the motion. :)

Chars guys. Think this is put me in a better mood to pick up a 70-200. These were cropped from a 24-105 since it is the longest I had with me at the time. Panning is not as easy as it seems now.

Im tempted to try even slower next time to see how I get on. :) Thanks

The shots do look great. Something I've found, is that IS is great when panning. I think the only one I'm not keen on, is the last one.

Thanks. The IS is pretty swish even at those shutter speeds and just need to practice a bit more. Does not have a mode 2 but it works well without it as shown above. These had to be cropped so still look a touch soft for me.

Not too sure on whats wrong with the last. Possibly my shutter speed was a bit higher.

I think even without mode 2, the IS helps make the horizontal lines nice and straight :D.

I think that's all it is with the last one - if it wasn't with the others, it'd look really good I'm sure.

Hi Elysium,

Great shots of the Thundercats. Reading the discussion. The engines with the pink are standard class, they can only change the porpellors but only to certian guide lines. The engines with the yellow are mudified class, pretty much everything is done, skimmed head, lighter cranks, rebore, exhausts, propellors etc.

They reach top speeds of 50-60 miles / hour. the wold speed record is by Mr Dynamite (Youtube him) at I hink 102.3km / hour, thats around the 65 miles / hour mark.

These litle boats go from 0 - 55 m/h in about 3 sec flat.
