Be honnest right off the bat. I am a Nikon user. But I am not so attached to Nikon that, they are the only photo equipment I will buy. I have other formats as well so I am weined off of brand loyality (although the only 35 mm I have bought is Nikon). If I think another company has a worthy product I will buy it. Hence I am here now. Basically I am looking for a mid ranged DSLR and Nikon really doesn't have what I want. I came to this site 2 days ago too look at peoples opinions and posts about the EOS 20D. Even though I would have to buy new lenses (not selling current Nikon equip) I am still interested in Canon digital slr's.
So I will be poking around, asking a few questions. General spy type stuff. :) My biggest goal is to produce very good pictures. And I want equipment that will help to that effect (need all the help I can get :) ).

I'd pull his bag out first... Cleaning all that carbon off the lenses would be a major pain so he'd probably thank me.

Priceless!
However... you owe me a new keyboard. :-P
Good thing about these new Mac keyboards, they drain very easily. Got most of the coffee out.

An interesting little article I read a while back talked about using Nikon lenses on Canon EOS cameras, basically they said that due to the fact that the Nikon lenses sit further away from the film, you could uses a converter on an EOS with extra optics and no loss in infinity focus.

I guess you will loose autofocus and aperture control though.
The rest of their range in here:

Hmmm! Anybody know if I could use my old K-mount (Ricoh, Pentax) lenses on a Canon Drebel? If I could, I would go out and get a Drebel right now!

I would have thought Canon on Nikon would be fine, but not Nikon on Canon since the barell opening on the mount is smaller.

No, what makes it possible isn't the mount diameter, but the distance between the back of the lens and the film plane. The Nikon body's deeper than the EOS body, so you can get away with putting, essentially, a spacer ring or extension tube in there. It's why the old Canon FD lenses can't be used normally on EOS cameras, too. The FD body's thinner, so any adapter moves the lens far enough away that you can't focus to infinity. The special-purpose adapters for FD->EOS have optics in them so they work like fractional teleconverters (1.26 x for example).

This make it very very tempting to become a dual user. :)
