What a beautiful shot, very nice. Is that corn fodder in the picture? Do you know the 'type' of chicken this will grow into? I love the natural colors of things . . .

The background is banana leaves...soft when it's dry.
The chick is a midget type ...not meant for food but as a pet.
series of pics fm a "tiny hole to eventual out" taken for a nursery class...

really fascinating and very beautiful.
we sometimes take banana's so much for granted
especially as they are so cheap (more or less) and plentiful

Hi there,
Agreed, I do have banana trees in my back-yard but have taken it for granted.
The pics on the stages of the banana is indeed beautiful....it shows great pics can be found/taken in your own corner.
Thanks for the "lesson".

I find this photo very captivating. Partly because of the story (birth is always dramatic) but also because the chick looks a little bit like one of the baby dinosaurs in Jurassic Park. You've caught the "scales" on its feet prefectly. And the way the toes are curled...spooky.

I think it's an amazing shot, so soon after hatching. Beautiful color and detail captured perfectly.
