Another part of my job that I love oh-so much is that I'm privileged enough to have my friends working as go-go dancers at the same events that I shoot for. So lo and behold, I introduce to you these very beautiful ladies: Lisa, Sasha, and Teanna. These pics were taken this past weekend, from both Friday the 14th and Saturday the 15th.

Friday was at Level 3, and Saturday at Key Club, both in Hollywood.

1: Sasha [L] and Lisa [R] warming up before changing

2: Sasha on her first run

3: Teanna right before her second run

4: Teanna [L] and Lisa [R] right after wardrobe change

5: Sasha [R] applying glitter on Teanna [L], part of a Britney act. And when I say applying glitter, I mean applying a LOT of glitter.

6: "Oh No! I got glitter under my nails!"

7: These girls really seem to love this pose. And I never knew how long Teanna's [R] tongue was until I shot this!

All shots were taken with a 10D, Sigma 24-70mm f/3.5, 550EX, and Lumiquest soft box diffuser.

I know that some of these are under-exposed, but time was not really on my side as the ladies had to change for their sets frequently, and hastily... Post-processing includes adjusting levels and airbrush.

Any critique is warmly welcomed.

EXCELLENT SHOOT! I liked the second and the last one best. Great light and the images are sharp. The makeup looks great too. My only pick is that you needed a hair stylist, their hair is not done up enough. Although the shot is fun and with actions their hair should have been neat and somewhat in place.

Thanks for sharing.

NiL,
Not sure if you read it, but this wasn't an actual shoot; more like freestyle shots as the girls were changing and getting ready between sets. No time to do hair! But that would've been super nice! Maybe I should take my girlfriend next time [she's a cosmetologist]

err, wait, maybe I shouldn't let her see me at work. :)

Critique:

You really should look into getting a larger apartment,.

You will have a room mate arriving soon (next week) as I am going to pack my bags and fly in to stay with my new best friend (jO3) as soon as possible...

Great shots, thanks for sharing ;)

Jo,
I love your style regarding compositition. Do you take pictures with your camera at an angle or do you do that in Photoshop?

Martin.

Martin, one thing that I wanted to do to differentiate my style from other photog's styles was to shoot at angles... Most everything that I shoot doesn't get cropped anymore, but when I first started shooting angles, there was SO much free space left over... I try to line up the angles according to the poses of my subjects, or maybe the line of a table or wall...

Great work there Joe. You've really captured their obvious playfulness. I understand how difficult it is to shoot under those circumstances. Performers back stage are very hard!
