Wow, and you guys tell me that MY mannequin is creepy looking?
I think Peggy is a bit more creepy than mine, but of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :D

She prefers her over it :)
Sally beauty supply. She was about $50 if you or someone you know has a frequent shopper card, my wife had one. Its not cheap considering what it is but by the time I bought one on ebay and paid shipping then extra for hair it was gonna cost the same or more. I got into a conversation with someone there cause I was getting weird looks buying it, I suppose I don't look like the typical beauty college student and this woman told me her husband had a friend that has a full mannequin that rides around in his car in a different outfit every day so I figured I wasn't nearly as odd as that fella!
My wife was a little disturbed with it at first, mainly because I used her hairbrush . But I just took a down with a threaded insert in the bottom of it and pounted it up the hole in her neck so she would thread on.
I think its going to work out great. I haven't had a ton of time to play yet.

She doesn't have good eyes though, they don't get the catch light. I'm going to have to do something about that :)
And it was slim pickins!

I'll give Hugh grant a call.... ;)
On a side note, my wife has suggested one of the Barbie hair-dressing heads for girls. We are going to check them out at a toy store this weekend. May be a cheaper alternative.

I'll bet you live in one of those cities with "Express Lanes for Car Poolers" on your freeways... I know a guy in DC who drives around with a life size doll, although I don't believe he changes it's clothes everyday!

here is her closeup. this is straight from the camera with no PP. She's not perfect but she really helps find the shaddows and will help me experiment!

bah... theres probably a cheaper way to get a real head than $50... but then your dealing with a real head, and you gotta do something about the rest of the body.

Not to mention the real head doesn't hold up to hot lights for long. And all the flies will look like sensor dust, requiring a lot of PP touch-up.

couple of questions
#1 why is a guy trying to check out your head with binoculars.... that's creepy.... if you're going to be a peeping tom at least use a real person.......
#2 the guy with the full size "manny" does she have the look of just walking into a surprise party? .... like OOOHHH is this 4 me?
#3 apparently beauty is in the eye of the headholder.... uh not beeholder..... they are way to small to see proper shadows.....

#2 - No, she apparently she was a real store model and not "suprised" type. That was my first thought too until this lady told me she found them on ebay for about $150. I figured anyone paying $150 is surely not getting the "suprised" version that comes in a box and requires a little blowing....
"It always pays to keep ahead"
Its nice to see the jokes still coming. I find it pretty funny as well but it has been helpful as I have seen many others around here and other forums doing the same thing.

As a woman, I just look at this picture and think "my god she needs some hairstyle help" ;)

Well all I did was take her out of the plastic bag and take the rubber band out of her hair! I comb my hair with clippers so I am afraid I will be of no help to her

I was playing last night, trying to shoot in total darkness, using the red AF assist light on my flash. Finally gave up and used a second, snooted flash to blow out the tan colored sheet I was using as a background.
I'll have to take a couple with a black background and get some dramatic light on it, see how it looks.

Yeah, and don't forget to turn off that red eyes reduction option in camera
