A quick visit to the Zoo on Monday afternoon to play with the new lens. Let me know what you think.

Your woodpecker is a Greater Yellownape (Picus flavinucha), of the Picidae family, i.e. woodpeckers. This is a Asian/Malaysian bird. Nice photo!

In fact they are all very nice. the 300 f/4 IS is a great lens for the money.
