Here are some of my favorites from the Washougal Nationals. It was an awesome event and I had fun taking MX photos for 4 days straight. Although I couldn't get a media pass (sent my info too late) I was still able to get really close to the action. Some C&C and suggestions for the next set would be appreciated. I had a really rough time trying to get some unique and interesting photos and am not entirely happy with this set considering I had 4 days to get the best images I could. Eh

Nice shots man. Looks like a couple dont have quite enough on the speed to stop the rider, but all in all great shots.

Great Pans! Did you use a remote flash on any or camera mount.

Hey, I don't do a lot of posting here, but I just had to say that number 3 is awesome!

2, 3, and 4 are my favs of the series. I would crop./clone out the rider on the left on #2.

Thanks everyone:) Any suggestions for what would make this a stronger set of images?

Only on #6 I had my Vivitar 285HV camera right on a fence post fired by pocket wizards. In the future I think I might use one on camera flash, then one off camera. An abundance of the pros used on camera flash, so I think combining both on and off camera flash would be a plus

Love these! 3, 4, 5, and 8 really stand out but you might want to straighten 3 and 8 a bit. You can see in the background that the horizon is off and while thats not a biggie in these shots, you'll get a more dynamic image if you correct it since you'll have the rider leaned over more in the berms as they actually must have been when you shot them.
Great series and from the looks of it, the media pass probably wouldn't have made much difference. Well done.

Ah thanks for the critique Scott, I usually am more careful about my horizons for photos like #3 but in the last one I'm curious is it more important to have a level horizon or the entire riders body? I think the reason I left that one a little un level was out of fear of cutting off the riders left side. I've always been a curious for which I should go for if in that situation.

That may not be the correct edit but it's definitely what I'd do.

Pic no 4 & 6 showing panning are the best in the lot. Great shots.

I love #3! #2 is great too, may need a bit of crop with the background biker.
