If you were going use photoshop and had one choice besides CS, which would you choose and why?

Photoshop 7.0 or Elements 3.0:confused:

Elements 3.0 because it has Adobe Camera Raw, 16-bit support and the Healing Brush. (And maybe other features that only PS CS has, but these are the ones I know of).

I have Photoshop CS.

By the way, if you got PS Elements 2.0 with your Canon camera, you can upgrade to Photoshop CS for $299 if your in the US or Canada. See:

Hi Jesper, I was wondering if you know what are the additional features that CS has Photoshop 7.0 (or 7.0.1) doesn't have? Appreciate your comments.

PS 7 has a healing brush and it does have 16-bit support and although it may not be as extensive as PS CS it does have 16-bit support for most of the commonly used functions.

In the end there's not that much of a difference between CS and 7.0.

I've never used Photoshop 7.0, but its support for 16-bit editing is much more limited than in Photoshop CS. Adobe has a page that describes the top 10 of new features in Photoshop CS here: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/newfeatures.html?top10highlight

Note that you can download try-before-you-buy versions of both Photoshop Elements 3.0 and Photoshop CS from Adobe's website.

Thanks for the info I have both Elem 2.0 and just received 7.0 off ebay with the intentions of upgrading to CS. After looking at 7.0 I might just keep it, but how do you get the fill bucket tool all I can find is one the says fill with bubbles? Also in my wanderings I seem to remember a Camera Raw and something else for 7.0 anyone know of this?

Lots of functions in Photoshop are "hidden" behind right-mouseclick menus, or the Shift, Ctrl, Alt keys and combinations of them. Try right-clicking on the tools in the toolbox, or holding down (a combination of) Shift, Ctrl or Alt while choosing or working with a tool. Usually the status bar (at the bottom of the screen) gives a hint about how these keys change the function of the tool you're using.

The Help function also explains where you find all the tools.

Before Photoshop CS was out, Adobe was selling Camera Raw for Photoshop 7.0, but they don't sell it anymore. According to Adobe you should upgrade to CS if you want Camera Raw...
