Problem with Canon camera

Hi,

I started having problems with my A40 recently. When I turn it on in Auto mode it sometimes says "change batteries" or camera screen is either completly black or black with standard info. When I switch to Panorama mode everything works fine. Then after some time/shaking? it works in Auto mode again.

May be anyone had similar problems? I like my old camera and would like to continue using it. May be anyone knows the cause of the problem/solution?

It sounds like it's time to take a look at your warranty. My A70 is still doing fine but when it goes, I'm getting a similar model, maybe an A95 for those times I don't want to take along the S1.
