Sorry, I know I just posted about something else, but I am full of questions.
My camera says that it will auto rotate the pictures when I download them to the computer, but it never happens. I always end up having to rotate them myself. uggh!
Anyone know how to fix that?

I allways thought the auto rotate on the camera was only for the LCD on the back, and the computer takes care of itself.

Auto-rotate is a flag set in the JPG. Use software that understands how to read the file and you'll be fine. Photoshop and Irfanview work. Make sure you have auto-rotate turned on in your camera.

what software are you using to view. I think Windows Live photogalley auto-rotates. (At least it does in Vista.)
(note this is not the standard windows picture viewer with XP, its a newer download you'd need to download from microsoft: http://get.live.com/photogallery/overview )

You need to set the correct "orientation" commands on your camera's menu. You will find it somewhere on one of the image preview tabs...
Choices are;
- No re-orientation at all...
- Re-orient for PC only...
- Re-orient for BOTH PC & camera LCD display...
Personally, I use re-orient for PC only. Although it means having to turn the camera body around to review portrait shots, you get more image than you do if you use re-orient in camera for review...
