Is the EOS 1Ds available for ordering in the USA ?? Does anyone know it's street price (not MSRP) yet..

No on both questions. Our rep has yet to take orders for the 1ds camera. Soon hopefully!

Well, I see that ADORAMA allows you to place an order for the 1Ds - $7,999 price tag. I've checked Ritz and B&H and they say "coming soon". I wonder if there is going to better pricing through competition or is Canon dictating the price range, or is ADORAMA setting the street price...

If the stores would come down another $1,000 I wouldn't hesitate in getting the 1Ds over the D60. Now I have to do more research and make a decision.

dont think anyone has street price yet but MAP is at $7999
