These shots are leftovers for a newspaper article on a local marathon runner. Shot #1 was at 1/13s at f 5.6 and shot # 2 was at 1/50s at f 5.6 with an ISO film speed of 200. Both were hand held and I used a sunpak pz 5000 flash to freeze and illuminate the subject while I metered off of the background. This is my first post so if you read this and don't see any of the photo attachments then I did something wrong.

I guess I'm going to be difficult here. I like the exposure best on the first shot, but I like the pose and background better in the second shot.
WOW! He sure looks serious. You couldn't get Him to smile for the shots?

I was trying to get his intensity. His "real job" is a member of a SWAT team so he is intense.

jo3,
These are two of around 10 that I took that morning. The newspaper ended up using a simple shot of the subject running towards me. I kinda figured they would. I usually give them what they want and then try some more creative stuff just for my own photographic growth.
Thanks for the feedback, guys.
