Hi,

I'm planning a series of photographs of a very elusive raptor species. I would love to create wide angle shots with a remote shutter. Problem is that I should be at least 300 feet (about 90 meters) away in orde to let him use his favourite perch with me watching from a distance. I've tried using a blind but the bird won't accept it.

Is the Canon LC-5 Wireless Controller up to the job? Or are there better solutions which give me even more distance-possibilities?

thanks a lot,

Glenn

300' is the limit of the LC-5 controller under ideal conditions so you might be really be pushing it out there. And it works via IR, not RF, so that may also cause problems under bright sunlight.

The ideal remote to use in your case would be the Pocket Wizard MultiMax but Plus II would work, too. Both units have a range of 1600 ft (488 m).

The Elinchrom Skyport might work, too, although its advertized working distance is 395 ft (120 m).
