Is the 5D the camera that has been in production for the longest time ever?

Yes the 5D was initially introduced in the early 14 century, about 1321 AD. It was used to record the beginning of Columbus"s voyage on which he discovered the new world. It also saw extensive use during the wars of
1812 and WW I and II. It recorded Man"s first step on the Moon and
was a key player at Superbowls I, IV, and XVII. The 5D also recorded
compelling images during the Great Fire when Mrs. O'Learys
cow kicked over the lantern.

One of the longest ones I know if is the pentax K1000 which was made from 1976 to 1997

For everyone craving the 5D's replacement:
...there was first dirt...and from dirt came the 5D.
So since the 5D predates Methuselah the 5D's replacement is over due.
