Embedding images-HELP!

Thought this would be the most appropriate section for these questions:

How do I embed images for posting on this forum as opposed to 'attaching' images?

Is there a way to preserve image quality when reducing file sizes for posting pics in the photo sharing sections? (there obviously is because there are plenty of stunning photos displayed here!!). I posted some images here last week and when they were reduced for attaching the image quality went way down.

Appreciate any help.

In a nutshell, you find a hosting service - post/store your pictures there and link them to here.

As for reducing file size and maintaining quality - check out those links - that's covered too.

I use Imageshack (http://www.imageshack.us/)to host most of my photos that aren't on my website. They will do the resizing for you when you upload if needs be and also provide you the code for posting in forums.
