Let me know what you think.

1.Not bad
2.keep trying
3.Through it in the trash and learn from it

My idea was to frame the sunset with trees. Maybe a good concept but I think the execution may have been lacking.

Thanks for looking.

I understand the concept, but I think the sunset looses something by being "framed" like that.

I go for 2 (keep trying)
In my opinion the color of the sky is beautiful but the trees are too dark. I would look for a spot with less dense trees and wait longer (sun becomes weaker).

Not bad, keep trying. I'd try and get a greater variation of color in the frame, it's almost monochrome.

I agree the framing is poor. That triangle shape leads the eye downward to nothing. The sunset was the focus so if possible shoot somewhere where there is more space. As for the trees, including a foregorund element was a good idea, it tends to add interest. I would eliminate the trees on top and maybe try to get back more as well.

I like the framing but your missing the main subject--the sun. Had you had that it would have worked.

Thankyou all for your ideas. It would appear I am much better at taking shots of wildlife than at scenery :) but then I'm still new to photography and just enjoying the learning experience. I'm off to a botanical garden for some more (much needed) practice so I'm quite sure you'll be hearing from me again shortly :)

Once again thanks for looking and really appreciate the advice.

This forum ROCKS!

I am sorta in between "not bad" and "throw it in the trash".............I like the color, but am not too crazy about the composition...........I would've concentrated more on the clouds on the top of your frame......maybe make that the focal point of the shot.
