awesome Kurt....your shots are always amazing. "macro heaven" indeed.
i love the fly and that strange grasshopper best, and the last shot is a good capture as well! :cool:

Wonderful shots of some weird bugs :)
#1 looks like either a soldier fly (Stratiomyidae) or a horse fly (Tabanidae) to me.

Agreed! Wow. And yes, #3 does look like a velvet ant, at least from what I've read/seen.

You and me both, except not many bugs around @ the moment. I still haven't fully moved across to the new PC, so Photosphop CS2 & C1 Pro and Neat Image have not been installed on the new PC at the moment. Not much point in doing so until I can get the Mark IIn working via FireWire on the new PC :( I'll probably go out and buy Downloader Pro anyways, since it's not that pricey, is relatively good etc.
