So I got my hands on this ancient beast... I find it interesting that in 1994 this camera cost around $9,000. That's for 1.3 megapixels. My girlfriend's phone has more. The memory card is 15MB. And, yes, it takes horribly flat, colorless pictures (not just because it's a Nikon.. ha, ha). If you decide to get one of these, be sure to use both hands. Yeah, that's a dime to show scale.

So, puts my 40D into perspective some, huh? All the money I'm dumping into camera gear... My next purchase will be glass. Surely that's safer.

So.. 14 years and now we're here, with 10-21mp cameras being the range available to most people. Wonder where we'll be in another 14 ;) 2022 model 1D, anybody?
