I just received a new Canon 20D. The LCD window is scratched. The company will gladly exchange it for a new one. Problems: 1. Being w/o my camera for a few wks. 2. I have to pay postage. I called Canon & they can sell me the window for $13. But, wouldn't tell me how to put it in. Does anyone have any links that show how to do this? Or any info? I'm figuring that by the time I pay postage back to the company, I can do this myself & not be w/o the camera! Thanks!!!!

A new camera came with a scratch on the lcd window! How big is the scratch? That is poor quailty assurance on canons part... My 20d came with a crap load of dust on the sensor but no marks on the body.

Does the $13 include a kit to take the window off, and glue to put it back on?

Also, you could check out this place for a protective cover, http://www.hoodmanusa.com/ . It's kind of pricy, but helps protect your LCD cover and would have ease your mind from future damage.

Thanks! I was told by a friend that you use a suction cup to pull off the LCD window??? The scratch isn't large, about 1/2" at best. It's more irratating than anything! After paying good money, I expect a "perfect" camera! I realize that it doesn't affect my photo taking. The LCD window from Canon comes flat with the adhesive on the corners.
