Jana on San Jacinto Peak

I'm going back a ways with this one. It's from a hike I did with a coworker and his girlfriend on San Jacinto Peak in belmondo's back yard in 2002. We did it again last year. This year we might go climb Half Dome in Yosemite.

Nice shot, Lonnie. Good luck in climbing Half Dome, that is said to be a real challenge. Be sure to arrive early at the cables.

Thanks. From what I've heard, late in the season and early in the morning is the best time to do it. I think Jana is probably hoping for early summer, though. Hell, she was talking about going there in the spring until I told her there'd still be snow around and the cables on Half Dome wouldn't even be up yet. I went through Yosemite in May 2004 and there was still a lot of snow around and that was a dry year!

I was wondering if someone would ask that. San Jacinto's summit is basically a huge pile of rocks. I just happened to be standing on a taller one than her. That's all. I wasn't all that much higher than her like the picture makes it look. Probably only a foot or two.
