I volunteered to shoot a few photos in natural light of this adorable baby. I have been dying to use my new Canon 20D and 85mm f/1.2 lens, but my teenagers have had so many pictures taken of them that they now run when they see me with the camera. I am finding that the 85mm lens has been hit or miss for me on the focusing when using a wide open aperture...many times I'm a bit disappointed with the photos because they are slightly blurry eventhough the AF point was locked onto the focal point of the frame (probably something I'm not doing quite right?) These were taken at an ISO of 400 and aperture of 1.2-1.4. Should I go to a higher ISO so I can use a smaller aperture? I would love to use this lens to its fullest potential - wide open. I am certainly open for suggestions. Thanks.

Great pictures! I really like the second one. Although, it looks like it's focused on the baby's mouth, and I also see some motion blur (were you using a slower shutter speed?). But maybe that's just me--I can't tell. The first one looks perfectly focused to me. Great shots and very cute kid!
