Hello All-

I am a bit excited. I just got home with my new 20D and I don't know what to do with it first. I took a couple of pics of my wife without knowing anything about what the size is or anything. They turned out very good.

I have a question and I know I read about this the other day. While in the camera shop, I took the camera out of the box, they gave me a battery and cf card to try it out. I snapped one picture. My count is 50 now. Will someone give me a hint where to reset the count so I can hurry up and take more pictures?

Thanks
Randy

i think it's in the menu. it will say continuous. I have never changed mine so I'm not sure if you can, but see if it will change to reset. but may I ask why you want to reset it?

Personally, I wouldn't reset. It's on set up menu under FILE NUMBERING with 2 choices, a) continuous, b)auto reset. Look in the manual on page 61 from your Canon 20D manual.

I want it to be continuous. But I also want to know exactly how many pictures I have taken with this camera. I know the CF card in the store set the count for my new camera. I just don't want to have to remember that my count is X - 47.

47 doesn't matter much - I take up to 300 photos per week, at that rate 47 is completely insignificant.

I got it reset and I guess you are right about not mattering much.
Now on to more important things...learning this camera. It sure does have a lot of buttons, wheels and knobs. It sure does feel nice. I've been shooting 4 different Sony digicams for the last several years with the fake shutter sound. I sure do love the real sound of this 20D.
